Lazy Baby: Turning 1! The Gifts.

Last week I shared the theme for Lazy Baby's first birthday; this week, I'm sharing some FIRST BIRTHDAY GIFT IDEAS! We won't be getting her all of these, but they are definitely things that I want to give LB when I can.

  1. Melissa & Doug® Classic Wooden Toy Bundle - Pound-A-Peg, Stack and Sort Board - LB loves to bang on things, so the peg table will be a hit, plus the stack board is great too because she's just figuring out stacking things! (Target)
  2. Melissa & Doug® Around the House Sound Puzzle - LB has a couple of wooden puzzles, but it's hard for her little fingers to get the pieces out, so I want to get her one with pegs. I like this one, a lot because it also shows the inside of the house and the people in it. (Target)
  3. Play Kitchen - This is what we are (probably) actually getting LB for her birthday. Play kitchens can get real expensive, real fast; and although I really wanted to get her a wooden one, this one is more affordable and I like it. We wanted to get her something that she would play with for years to come, so this is an investment in our eyes. (Target)
  4. Melissa & Doug® Let's Play House! Dust, Sweep & Mop - I know this looks weird, but I am getting this for LB one way or another because I want LB to not loathe the idea of cleaning in the future. It all goes back the Montessori-esque things I am trying to do with her. (Target)
  5. New PJs - These are just too freakin' cute. Plus, she hates the footies in her footie pjs so these are a good compromise in my opinion. BONUS FOR YOU! Save 20% on pure organic cotton #hannajams, including new arrivals! With warm summer nights just around the corner, it’s time to stock up on short johns in cool, comfy cotton. Valid through 5/6/18. (Hanna Anderrson)
  6. Wooden Building Blocks - LB already has small, alphabet wooden blocks, but I think she'd like these bigger building blocks down the road. (Target)

Gifts for him

It's Mr. LL's birthday this Friday and I thought I'd do a little gift guide with him in mind. If you have a nerdy, artsy, gamer, handy-man in your life, then here are some ideas what to get him.

GIFTS FOR HIM:

  1. We just watched The Last Jedi a few weeks ago (having a baby makes it hard to catch movies in the theaters). I think my Imperial love would like this Funko POP. (Target)
  2. Also, we've started to watch a few of those drone tricks, VR, POV videos and I think Mr. LL would be into giving it a shot. So this Racing Drone set is on the list. (Target)
  3. Mr. LL loves him a good snapback, and it's about time for a new one. I think this Merci Bien snapback is cool, so maybe he will too? (Studio Ceizer)
  4. Even though Mr. LL plays Imperial in all the video games (SWG-what what?!), I know there's a place in his heart for Solo. So, why not get him a Saint Han Solo prayer candle? (Etsy)
  5. We like to collect unique taxidermy (no deer heads for us, thanks) and have long since established that a snake skeleton is next on our list of pieces to acquire. (Etsy)

Baby's First Easter!

This will be Lazy Baby's first Easter, and I am so excited. I've already started putting together her Easter basket. Here are the things that are for sure going to be dropped off by the Easter Bunny this year:

Baby's First Easter Basket:

  1. The Runaway Bunny by Margaret Wise BrownThis was one of my favorite books when I was a little kid. LB loves Brown's Goodnight Moon, so I think this will be a hit as well.
  2. HABA Shakin EggsLB's still a little too young for a proper egg-filled Easter (imo, anyway), but I think these toys will be great for her.
  3. Gerber Puffs and…
  4. Gerber Yogurt Melts: LB is DEFINITELY too young for candy, so she'll get some age appropriate treats instead!
  5. A stuffed bunnyThis isn't necessarily the one she'll be getting because I'm leaving this one up to Mr. LL to procure. However, this guy is very cute.

Here's some other Easter things I've been checking out lately:

  • I haven't settled on the actual basket for LB yet. I know I want one that is going to last for a very long time; either so we can use it every year or it can be used in her room/around the house. These two are cute: Easter Basket with Floral Liner or Easter Basket with Bunny Liner.
  • I've been thinking that some bunny pajamas would be a cute gift, too. Too bad these don't seem to be in her size.
  • Another HABA egg-themed gift idea, for older kids,
  • I think I'm going to have to get these nesting eggs for some Easter decor. They are beautiful and nesting things are one of those Montessori-esque things...right? Right.
